COMPOUND WORD
A compound word is a combination of two or more words that function as a single unit of meaning.
THREE FORMS OF COMPOUND WORDS
*close form - the words are melded together such as jellyfish, bookshelf, cupcake
*hyphenated form - such as mother-in-law, master-at-arms, six-pack
*open form - such as post office, real estate, middle class

WORD SEARCH
This set of worksheets has two parts. The first part is the word search wherein the students have to find and circle the words hidden in the grids. The words may be hidden in any direction.
The second part includes writing activity. The students will write all the words from the word bank on the word search (part 1) to make compound words.
Answer keys are available on the printable file. You can use the answer keys to check the answer of your students.
